Service Changes to Express Bus System Effective August 22, 2021

New schedules for all express bus routes will become effective August 22, 2021. All express bus routes will continue to serve downtown Hartford and Union Station. FREE connecting shuttle service to Asylum Hill, the State Capitol and Columbus Blvd. will be provided by the Asylum Hill Connector, State Capitol Connector and Columbus Blvd. Connector routes.

EXPRESS BUS SERVICE

901 – Avon-Canton Express

Weekdays

Some trips on Route 901 will be replaced by trips on Routes 926 & 927, making the same stops as Route 901.

Service to Collinsville (Simonds Ave. & Dowd Ave.) will be discontinued. Customers will be accommodated at the Canton Park & Ride and at a new bus stop on Albany Tpke. at Union Savings Bank.

902 – Farm Springs Express

Weekdays

Express service to the Corbins Park & Ride will be discontinued. Alternate service will be provided by CTfastrak Routes 121 & 128.

Service to Farm Springs will continue to be provided. One trip will depart Main St. & Atheneum Sq. (Travelers) to Farm Springs at 7:30am and one return trip will depart Raytheon at 4:35pm.

903 – Buckland-Vernon Express

Weekdays

Some trips on Route 903 will be extended to Vernon. Trips designated “903” in the public timetable will make stops at the Buckland, Green Circle Rd., Vernon, and Reservoir Road Park & Rides. Trips designated “903B” will stop at the Buckland Park & Ride only.

Express service between Hartford and Buckland will operate every 15 minutes; service between Hartford and Vernon will operate every 30 minutes. Additional service to the Buckland and Reservoir Rd. Park & Rides will also be provided by Route 913.

904 – Glastonbury Express

Weekdays

A new trip will be added departing Glastonbury at 6:11am, arriving in Hartford at 6:25am.

905 – Windsor Locks-Enfield Express

Weekdays

Express service to the Windsor Locks & Enfield Square Park & Rides will now operate every 20 minutes. All trips will serve both Windsor Locks & Enfield. Some trips will continue to drop off at the Poquonock Park & Ride in the AM and pick up at Poquonock in the PM to accommodate customers connecting to destinations in Windsor & Windsor Locks.

Route 905 service to East Windsor will be discontinued. Alternate service to East Windsor will be provided by Route 96E.

Route 905 service to Kennedy Rd., Old County Rd., North St. & Main St. in Windsor Locks will be discontinued. Alternate service to North St. & Main St. will be provided by the New Route 24; alternate service to Kennedy Rd. & Old County Rd. will be provided by Route 34.

Two AM round-trips and two PM round-trips will continue to serve Enfield Town Hall and connect with PVTA at Bright Meadow Blvd.

Saturdays & Sundays

Route 905 service to the Enfield & Somers Correctional Institutions will be discontinued.

The single round-trip to Enfield & Somers on Saturdays & Sundays will be replaced with three round-trips to Windsor Locks & Enfield: one AM trip, one midday trip & one PM trip.

906 – Cromwell Express

Weekdays

Some trips on Route 906 to the Cromwell Park & Ride will be replaced by trips on Route 919. Service to Cromwell Hills will continue to be provided on a part-time basis.

907 – Newington Express

Weekdays

Three AM trips will operate from Newington to Hartford and three return trips will operate in the PM.

909 – Farmington-Unionville Express

Weekdays

The schedule for Route 909 is being adjusted to provide better trip spacing. Route 909 buses departing Hartford to Unionville will now originate at Main St. & Atheneum Sq. (Travelers) making additional stops at Asylum & Trumbull (XL Center) and Asylum & High.

910 – Rocky Hill Express

Weekdays

The schedule for Route 910 is being adjusted to provide better trip spacing.

912 – Simsbury-Granby Express

Weekdays

Express service to Simsbury and Granby will now operate every 30 minutes. All trips will travel the full route. Regular express fares will be in effect in both directions on all trips.

The bus stops on Hopmeadow St. at Winslow Place and the State Sand Pit will be discontinued. Please board at the bus stops inside the Winslow Place or State Sand Pit Park & Rides instead.

Due to the current traffic pattern at the University of Hartford, inbound buses will continue to bypass the U of H campus bus stop until further notice. Customers from Simsbury & Bloomfield wishing to travel to U of H should plan to exit at the bus stop on Bloomfield Avenue across from the main entrance instead.

913 – Buckland-Storrs Express

Weekdays, Saturdays & Sundays

Most trips on Route 913 will now make an additional stop at the Reservoir Rd. Park & Ride in Vernon.

Additional service on Route 913 will now be provided by Peter Pan Bus Lines’ Hartford/ Providence service (see below). Peter Pan buses will serve most regular Route 913 bus stops in Hartford and Storrs and will make additional stops in Manchester, Bolton & Coventry. Trip times will also be listed in the Route 913 timetable.

Weekdays

Some weekday AM trips from Storrs to Hartford will now bypass the Buckland Park & Ride. Customers traveling to Buckland on these trips will need to transfer to Route 903 at the Reservoir Rd. Park & Ride.

The 7:50am weekday “class days only” trip from Hartford to Storrs will be discontinued. Customers will be accommodated by Peter Pan Bus Lines’ 7:30am trip from Hartford to Storrs.

Fridays

The 12:15pm & 4:15pm Friday “class days only” trips from Storrs to Hartford will be discontinued. Customers on the 12:15pm trip will be accommodated by the 11:45am & 12:45pm trips. Customers on the 4:15pm trip will be accommodated by Peter Pan Bus Lines’ 4:15pm trip from Storrs to Hartford.

The 2:15pm & 3:15pm Friday “class days only” trips from Storrs to Hartford will now continue on to Meriden & New Haven via CTtransit Route 950 (no transfer required).

914 – Marlborough-Colchester Express

Weekdays

All trips will travel the full route. The first AM trip from Marlborough will now originate from Colchester and operate via Glastonbury.

915 – Windsor Express

Weekdays

Express service between downtown Hartford and the Poquonock Park & Ride will be discontinued.

Customers will be accommodated by frequent local limited-stop service on Routes 30X, 34X & 36X. Morning trips will depart Poquonock at 6:25am, 6:38am, 6:53am, 7:05am, 7:23am, 7:33am, 7:45am, 8:15am, 8:33am & 9:05am. Afternoon trips will depart Central Row South Side (Travelers) at 3:00pm, 3:40pm, 4:10pm, 4:20pm, 4:40pm, 5:00pm, 5:10pm, 5:40pm & 6:20pm. Frequent midday and evening service will also be available.

917 – Vernon-Tolland Express

Weekdays

Route 917 will be discontinued. Service to the Green Circle and Vernon Park & Rides will now be provided by Route 903. Service to the Reservoir Rd. Park & Ride will now be provided by Routes 903 & 913 and service to the Tolland Park & Ride will be provided by Route 913 only.

918 – Coventry-Willimantic Express

Weekdays

The bus stops on Main St. at AutoZone and at Jackson St. & Ash St. will be discontinued. Customers will be accommodated at Main St. & Bank St. and at a new bus stop on High St. at the ECSU campus.

Three new trips will be added to the schedule: 6:15am from Hartford to Willimantic and 1:45pm & 5:45pm from Willimantic to Hartford. These trips, as well as the 12:20pm trip from Hartford to Willimantic will also make an additional stop at Manchester Center.

Weekdays, Saturdays & Sundays

Additional service on Route 918 will now be provided by Peter Pan Bus Lines’ Hartford/ Providence service (see below). Peter Pan buses will serve most regular Route 918 bus stops in Hartford, Manchester, Bolton, Coventry & Willimantic and will make additional stops in Brooklyn & Killingly. Trip times will also be listed in the Route 918 timetable.

919 – Cromwell-Meriden Express

Weekdays

The bus stops at Centennial Plaza and along West Main St. & East Main St. will be discontinued. Customers will be accommodated by riding Routes 565 or 566 to the Meriden Transit Center and transferring to Route 950 or the Hartford Line.

All trips on Route 919 will make additional stops at the Country Club Rd. and Cromwell Park & Rides.

The schedule for Route 919 is being adjusted to provide better trip spacing. A midday round-trip to Cromwell & Meriden has also been added to the schedule.

921 – Middletown-Old Saybrook Express

Weekdays

The bus stop at Elm St. & Main St. in Old Saybrook will be discontinued and a new stop added at the Old Saybrook Transit Center.

Three new trips will be added to the schedule: 6:00am from Hartford to Old Saybrook and 1:37pm & 5:37pm from Old Saybrook to Hartford.

Connections will be available at Old Saybrook with Shore Line East trains to New London and New Haven. Shore Line East customers who purchase a Shore Line East Plus Bus ticket are eligible to pay a discounted fare on Route 921.

923 – Bristol Express

Weekdays

Midday express service to Bristol will be discontinued; customers will be accommodated by CTfastrak Route 102. The bus stop in downtown Bristol will be relocated from North Main St. at the Post Office to Hope St. across from City Hall.

924 – Southington-Cheshire Express | 925 – Waterbury Express | 928 – Southington-Cheshire-Waterbury Express

Weekdays, Saturdays & Sundays

Weekday service on Routes 924 & 925 will be discontinued and replaced by service on Route 928 at all times. Service will continue to operate every 30 minutes during the AM & PM peak and every hour during the day. Evening and weekend service will now operate every 90 minutes.

The Milldale Park & Ride in Cheshire will be moved to the same fare zone as the Plantsville Park & Ride. As a result, the fare for customers traveling from Milldale to New Britain or Hartford will be reduced to 2 zones and 3 zones, respectively. The fare for customers traveling from Milldale to Waterbury will remain unchanged.

Connections will continue to be available at Waterbury Railroad Station with Waterbury Branch trains to and from Bridgeport.

926 – Winsted Express | 927 – Torrington Express

Weekdays

The schedules for Routes 926 & 927 are being adjusted to provide better trip spacing.  In addition, buses will make all regular Route 901 stops through Canton, Avon & West Hartford.

On Route 926, a stop is being added at the New Hartford Park & Ride on Church Street North.

On Route 927, a stop is being added at the Torrington Park & Ride on Christopher Road off CT 8.  Buses traveling to Hartford will pick up outside the lot on East Elm St. and buses returning from Hartford will drop off outside the lot on East Main St.

The bus stop on John St. in Torrington is being discontinued.  Instead, buses will stop on South Main St. outside Torrington Plaza, across from Torrington Library.

950 – Hartford/Meriden/New Haven Express

Weekdays

A bus stop is being added at Meriden Transit Center on all trips in both directions.

Buses traveling to Hartford in the AM and returning from Hartford in the PM will no longer stop at the Country Club Rd. Park & Ride. This service will now be provided by Route 919.

Service from the Country Club Rd. Park & Ride to New Haven in the AM and returning from New Haven in the PM will continue to operate.

In New Haven, due to recent changes to the downtown street network, the bus stops at George & Church and at South Church & Lafayette will be discontinued. A new bus stop will be added at Chapel & State in both directions.

The schedule for Route 950 is being adjusted to provide better trip spacing. Midday service will be expanded from one round-trip to three. Route 950 buses will also cross-honor CTrail Hartford Line single-ride, weekly & monthly tickets at no additional charge (10-ride tickets cannot be accepted). A Hartford Line Plus Bus ticket is not required to ride Route 950, however a Plus Bus ticket is required for use on most connecting bus routes in Hartford, Meriden & New Haven.

PPB-Hartford/Providence (operated by Peter Pan Bus Lines)

Weekdays, Saturdays & Sundays

Peter Pan Bus Lines’ Hartford/Providence service will resume effective August 22. Peter Pan buses on the Hartford/Providence route will serve many regular CTtransit, WRTD & NECTD bus stops in Hartford, Manchester, Bolton, Coventry, Storrs, Mansfield, Willimantic, Brooklyn & Killingly.

Regular CTtransit express bus fares will be in effect on the Connecticut portion of Peter Pan’s Hartford/Providence route and buses will accept all CTtransit fare media for in-state travel -- including U-PASS and the Go CT Card.

CONNECTOR SERVICE

Three connector routes: the AH – Asylum Hill Connector, the CB – Columbus Blvd. Connector and the SC – State Capitol Connector will now operate on weekday mornings & afternoons. Routes AH, CB & SC are FREE services designed to connect bus & rail customers with employment destinations in or near the downtown area.

AH – Asylum Hill Connector

Weekdays

AM trips on Route AH depart Central Row North Side (Old State House) approximately every 10 minutes from 6:35am to 8:50am. AH buses make stops along Pearl St., at Union Station, along Farmington Ave. & Sigourney St. and at CTfastrak Sigourney St. Station.

PM trips on Route AH operate in the reverse direction, departing Sigourney St. Station approximately every 10 minutes from 3:20pm to 5:35pm, making the same stops.

CB – Columbus Blvd. Connector

Weekdays

AM trips on Route CB depart CTfastrak Sigourney St. Station approximately every 10 minutes from 6:55am to 8:50am. CB buses operate via the CTfastrak Guideway to Union Station, then make stops along Pearl St., at Central Row, and along Market St., Columbus Blvd. & Arch St.

PM trips on Route CB depart Market & Kinsley approximately every 10 minutes from 3:35pm to 5:35pm, making stops along Columbus Blvd., Arch St., Main St. & Asylum St., at Union Station and at Sigourney St. Station.

SC – State Capitol Connector

Weekdays

Route SC operates two-way service between CTfastrak Sigourney St. Station and Union Station via Capitol Ave. & Pearl St.

Buses depart Sigourney St. Station every 30 minutes from 6:45am to 8:45am and from 3:40pm to 5:10pm. Buses depart Union Place approximately every 30 minutes from 6:55am to 9:05am and from 3:30pm to 5:30pm.
