Service Impacts in New Haven on September 7, 2026

TAKE NOTE: Valued Customers, due to the Labor Day holiday and the Faxon Law Road Race on September 7, 2026, there will be significant service impacts in downtown New Haven between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. for several routes.

CTtransit will operate on a Sunday schedule for Labor Day. In addition, the City of New Haven is hosting the annual Faxon Law Road Race, drawing thousands of participants and spectators for multiple races throughout the day, resulting in extensive street closures and significant impacts to CTtransit service.

Please expect delays, detours and missed stops throughout downtown New Haven during this time.

Downtown New Haven temporary boarding and alighting locations:

  • Church Street & George Street: Routes 228, 229, 238, USS
  • George Street & Church Street: Routes 206, 212, 223, 271, 272
  • George Street & Church Street: Routes 215, 224, 234
  • S. Orange Avenue & George Street: Routes 243, 246, 255, 261, 262, 265

No intermediate stops
The following routes will not service intermediate stops between downtown New Haven and the locations listed below:

  • 206 Townsend & Forbes
  • 212 Grand Street & Ferry Street
  • 223 Outbound: Pine Street and Ferry Street; Inbound: Lombard Street and Ferry Street
  • 224 State Street and Edmund Street
  • 228 Whitney Avenue and Dixwell Avenue
  • 234 Mill Rock Road and Newhall Street
  • 238 Dixwell Avenue and Henry Street
  • 243A Whalley Avenue and Dayton Street
  • 243B Whalley Avenue and Blake Street
  • 246 Fountain Street and Forrest Road
  • 255 Derby Avenue and Ella T. Grass Boulevard
