CTtransit now offering 50% fares for youth customers

CTtransit is proud to announce that as of Oct. 1, 2026, we are expanding our reduced-fare category, with youth customers ages 5-18 eligible for 50% fares.

Youth customers will see a boost from their previous 20% reduction to 50% and can now buy 31-day passes for the first time.

Seniors and customers with disabilities will continue to receive their existing 50% reduced fares, as will veterans.

The fare reduction will expand access to public transportation statewide.

The 50% discount applies to Local service and CTfastrak. It does not apply to Express service.

Youth customers must show a student ID when boarding to get the discount. The 10-Ride and 31-Day passes are available as prepaid paper passes in the mobile app (Token Transit or the Transit app). You can buy 2-Hour and All-Day fares on board or in the mobile app.
