Detours planned for Eversource Hartford Marathon

Connecticut runners are getting ready for this weekend's Eversource Hartford Marathon, and so are CTtransit and CTfastrak, with multiple detours planned for Saturday, October 10, 2026, that will affect most local and express routes from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. If you plan to be traveling during the event, please allow extra time to get to your destination.

About 11,000 participants are expected in Bushnell Park this weekend for the 33rd running of the marathon, necessitating temporary street closures and bus stop relocations. Make sure to subscribe to CTtransit alerts to get the most up-to-date information on your preferred routes.

Downtown Hartford
All regular downtown bus stops will be closed. The downtown bus stop for Routes 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 37, 38, 39, 40, 42, 43, 44, 46, 47, 50, 52, 53, 54, 55,56, 58, 59, 61, 62, 63, 64, 66, 69, 74, 76, 80, 82, 83, 84, 88, 94, 95, 96, 905, and PPB will be located on Church Street between Main and Trumbull streets.
Routes 101, 102, 121, 125, 128, 913, and 928 will terminate at Sigourney Street Station and will not serve downtown Hartford. A shuttle bus will operate between Church Street and Sigourney Street Station to help customers making connections.
 
Downtown East Hartford
There will be no local bus service to Connecticut Boulevard or Church Corner. A transfer hub will be set up on Roberts Street for Routes 82, 83, 84, 88, 94, 96, and 121. For customers traveling to downtown East Hartford, a shuttle bus will be provided from Roberts Street.

In Hartford, there will be no bus service on:
  • Asylum Avenue east of Sigourney Street
  • Asylum Street (entire length)
  • Broad Street between Capitol and Jefferson
  • Capitol Avenue east of Forest Street
  • Central Row (entire length)
  • Charter Oak Avenue (entire length)
  • Cogswell Street (entire length)
  • Farmington Avenue east of Prospect Avenue
  • Ford Street (entire length)
  • Garden Street between Asylum and Myrtle
  • High Street (entire length)
  • Hudson Street (entire length)
  • Huyshope Avenue (entire length)
  • Main Street between Church and South Green
  • Market Street (entire length)
  • Park Street east of Sisson Avenue
  • Park Terrace (entire length)
  • Pearl Street (entire length)
  • Sigourney Street between I-84 Ramp and Park Terrace
  • Spruce Street (entire length)
  • Trumbull Street between Welles and Pearl
  • Union Place (entire length)
  • Spruce Street (entire length)
  • Washington Street between Capitol and Jefferson
  • Wawarme Avenue east of Locust Street
  • Welles Street (entire length)
     
In East Hartford, there will be no bus service on:
  • Connecticut Boulevard (entire length)
  • Main Street (north) between Park and School
  • Main Street (south) between Central and Brewer
  • Silver Lane between Main and Roberts
