Free Rides and Holiday Service for the Fourth of July Weekend

CTtransit and CTfastrak will run on a Sunday schedule on Saturday, July 4, and Sunday, July 5. Every CTtransit and CTfastrak bus is fare-free for the holiday weekend, from 3 a.m. on Saturday, July 4, through 2 a.m. on Monday, July 6. No ticket, pass, or tap is needed to board during that window. Regular fares return Monday, July 6.

A few things worth knowing before you ride:

  • Check the posted schedules, not the apps. Some expanded holiday service in the Hartford area is not loaded into Trip Planner, the Transit app, Google Maps, or other real-time tools. For the most accurate times on July 4, use the special schedules posted on this site rather than a third-party app.
  • Plan your return. Service on some routes runs later than a normal Sunday in the Hartford area on the Fourth. Last bus times are listed here.

Please note: The rain date for Hartford Bonanza is Sunday, July 5. In the event the festival is postponed, extra July 4 service will also operate on Sunday, July 5.
