Free Rides and Holiday Service for the 4th of July Weekend

TAKE NOTE: Valued customers, CTtransit and CTfastrak will run on a Sunday schedule on Saturday, July 4, and Sunday, July 5. A regular weekday schedule is in effect Friday, July 3.

Every CTtransit and CTfastrak bus is fare-free for the holiday weekend, from 3 a.m. on Saturday, July 4, through 2 a.m. on Monday, July 6. No ticket, pass, or tap is needed to board during that window. Regular fares return Monday, July 6.

A few things worth knowing before you ride:

• Expanded CTfastrak service runs on the 4th. On July 4 only, Routes 101, 102, and 121 add extra trips into the evening to move the Bonanza crowd. Route 101 runs every 10 minutes after 2 p.m., and Routes 102 and 121 run every 30 minutes after 2 p.m., with service continuing until midnight or later. These special trips are not shown in trip-planning apps, so use the July 4 special schedules posted on https://www.cttransit.com/services/july-4th-service.
• You can park for free at park and ride lots along our routes.
• Plan your return. Service on some routes runs later than a normal Sunday in the Hartford area on the 4th. Last bus times are listed on https://www.cttransit.com/services/july-4th-service.
