Attend CTDOT's Upcoming MOVE New Haven Bus Rapid Transit Public Meetings
Are you interested in learning about the Connecticut Department of Transportation’s MOVE New Haven Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project? We have good news for you! The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is hosting a series of public meetings, open to all.
The MOVE New Haven BRT project aims to continue to develop BRT service along key corridors in the CTtransit New Haven Division, to improve service along the four routes with the highest demand: 212 Grand Avenue, 238 Dixwell Avenue, 243 Whalley Avenue, and 265 Congress Avenue.
The project, building on the recommendations of the MOVE New Haven transit mobility study, aims to enhance the quality, speed and reliability of bus service by introducing limited-stop on-street BRT service, and to improve safety for all corridor users.
The project includes:
- Dedicated bus lanes
- Transit signal priority
- Upgraded signal equipment
- Enhanced pedestrian safety measures
- BRT-branded stops with amenities, particularly at high-ridership stops
- Accessibility upgrades
- Mobility hubs
The goals of the project are:
- Shorter travel times
- Improved schedule reliability
- A safer, more accessible environment for everyone
